Maersk Drilling - Drill Rig Photography

Maersk Drilling is a drilling rig operator based in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is a subsidiary of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group, established in 1972. Maersk Drilling is one of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group's core businesses.

Aerial Marine Media provide Maersk Drilling with extensive helicopter aerial photography services throughout Asia, especially for brand new rigs and drill ships just out of the construction yard.

The company will travel hundreds of kilometres offshore to locate and photograph  exploration rigs currently under going sea trials or on delivery runs and on at least one occasion, the camera helicopter has been the first to land on the heli-deck of the new rig.

The rig Maersk Discoverer was photographed passing the island of Bali, Maersk Developer was photographed under headway in the Straits of Malacca and Maersk Deliverer was photographed completing sea trials off the west coast of Thailand.

Maersk Drilling will use the photography for corporate communications purposes and they use our photography extensively in their global web site. They also make the imagery available to maritime publications and appropriate clients from a download library

This is a short film showing how the Maersk Drilling photographic shoots are executed by the helicopter aerial camera team in the Straits of Malacca: Maersk Valiant and Maersk Viking Photoshoot.
