Noble Lloyd Noble - Rig Transportation Photography

London based Noble Corporation has taken delivery of the world's biggest jack up drilling rig, the Noble Lloyd Noble, from the Singapore based ship building company Sembcorp Marine after a 31 month construction period.

The rig will be deployed into the Statoil Mariner Field for the next four years where it will be drilling in an extremely harsh environment. The rig is capable of operating in depths of 150 metres with an operational drilling depth of 10,000 metres and is the first of its kind to fully comply with both Norwegian and British regulatory standards.

The transportation of the rig from the Singapore shipyard to the North Sea was undertaken by Norwegian based Offshore Heavy Transport using their heavy lift ship MV Hawk. Helicopter support for the offshore photography in the Straits of Malacca was provided by Cempaka Helicopters from Subang Airport, with the R66 Marine being flown by Captain Barry Chambers.
